I got trapped in a financial scam. I paid them 8.5 lacs before I realized it is a scam. Within 24 hours I contacted 1930 and registered the crime. I got the sms from them asking me to go to the portal and add further details. On going to the portal realised they had missed a digit in my bank account no. I was unable to modify the same hence again added the same without realising that the amount doubled. I then again called up 1930 and they registered a new complaint with a new acknowledgement no. They were to hold back money through both the complaint nos.totalling to 1.1 lacs. They then asked me to visit my local police station. They said that they will take only one of the 2 complaints and suggested to take the one which had a higher amount of 65000 on hold. They have given me a letter and asked me to go to my bank and get an acknowledgement from them.
1. Is the process going in the right direction
2. What do about the complaint which had my wrong account no.but corrected later.? It has 45000 on hold.

A.Dear Client,

In the case where an individual is a victim of a financial scam, apart from reporting the incident to the cybercrime cell, the victim can pursue legal action by making a private complaint directly to a Court of Magistrate under Section 200 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC).

Section 200 of the CrPC outlines the procedure for a Magistrate to take cognizance of an offence. It requires any person who desires the Magistrate to take cognizance of an offence to present a written complaint or information. Once a complaint is presented, the Magistrate, taking cognizance of the offence, is required to examine the complainant and any witnesses present under oath. The substance of this examination is then reduced to writing and signed by both the complainant and the witnesses, as well as the Magistrate.

By following this legal process, the victim initiates a formal complaint before the Magistrate, providing an account of the financial scam and presenting any evidence or witnesses available. This approach can lead to a thorough examination of the matter and may result in legal action against the perpetrators of the financial scam. It's important to consult with legal professionals for advice and guidance throughout this process.
