Motor Accident

Car accident case

I recently met with and accident on 23rd Dec 23 in Mandi Himachal, We were 5 people in car and I was driving, everybody involved is safe with some injuries, we were rushed to hospital timely, today I received a call from one police official he is asking me to come to his police station to submit my 5 photos and Adhar card copy. I reside in delhi and I am on medical condition as of now. Just want to know what are the consequences I may face if I submit the document, will it be an issue in near future?

Dear client, there will be no issue as the police will take the details for future considerations. As you are in medical condition inform them that after you come back to normal then you will come and submit these documents.

In the case of a road accident, it's advisable to report the incident to the police as soon as possible. While there may not be a strict time limit, filing a police report timely can help document the details of the accident and facilitate insurance claims if applicable. An FIR is typically required to be filed at the nearest police station to the location of the incident as soon as possible. So, on receipt of a call from the local police station nearest to the accident spot at Mandi, HP, you need to abide by the instruction of the police either through an authorized representative or hire the service of an Advocate. Non-compliance with basic formalities post-accident may cause you to face consequences later in the future.
