Police forcing to lodge complaint Police forcing to lodge complaint

I met with an accident on activa. It was activa- activa collision. We don't want to lodge a complaint. But police is asking us bribe (money) to not lodge complaint. Isn't it in our hands whether to file complaint or not.

A.Dear Sir,
It is not in your hands as Police may register FIR even without your consent as suo-motto action for committing such road accident. Take a wise decision.

A.Dear Client,
Unless the information of the motor accident is given by the injured/victim, the police cannot register a complaint or FIR and take cognizance of the case. To resolve the issue of demand for bribes by the police, you can file a complaint with the State Human Rights Commission or the State Police Complaint Authority, which are independent bodies empowered to investigate complaints against police officers.
