Company is not returning my original marksheets

My original mark sheets are with my ex-employer. It is based in a different city. They are asking me to come in person to take them. I have requested them to courier it or hand it over to my friend who I can authorize to collect it from them. But they are refusing it hand over it to them as well. I don't want to travel just to get my documents. Is there any other option?

Dear client, it is adviced you to go and get the certificated from your ex-employer. If any damage has occured or the courier has been misplaced or got missed then it would be very challenging for you.

on cessation of employment either for resignation or otherwise, and the employer cannot withhold your original academic records of an outgoing employee. Considering the value and importance of the original mark sheet the company has rightly advised an ex-employee to collect his original documents to ensure its delivery to the right person. So, you need to follow the advice of your ex-employer considering your interest.
