There was this guy whom I liked and he was in some sorta trouble and in need of money so I lent him... he did exercise undue influence over me... he gave me a date to repay back but he failed so I said that I'll sue him... so he started blackmailing me that he'll disclose the private chats to my Dad Then I went to the cops and file a complaint against him But cops can't help to recover the sum instead they can take the actions for criminal offence so I took it back cuz we had an agreement but he's not acting accordingly what should I do should I send him a legal notice or go to the cops

A.Dear Madam,
If Police are not comfortable to register criminal case then file a private complaint and bring pressure on him and thus he may settle the amount which is due to him. Parallel to it you may file civil case for recovery of said amount which is nothing but hand loan given to him.

A.Dear Client,

Given the circumstances, it appears that the person you lent money to is attempting to coerce you through blackmail. In such situations, seeking legal recourse is advisable.

You may consider sending him a legal notice demanding repayment of the loan as per your agreement. If he fails to comply with the terms of the notice, you may need to escalate the matter by filing a civil lawsuit against him for recovery of the lent amount.

Additionally, if he continues to threaten or harass you, it's crucial to document all such incidents and consider filing a police complaint against him for extortion or blackmail. The police may be able to take action against him for these criminal offenses.
