Hitting a girl in self defence

A girl was torturing me by saying m calling her from different private no. And was trying to create many problems in my personal relationship as we came to know she is guilty we thought of taking to her she started abusing me in return my bf slapped her luckily he dint hit her is it illigal

A.You cannot decide whether someone is guilty or not. That is upto the police and the court.
Secondly such harassment should've been complained to the police.
Thirdly she was abusing and not using physical force. You could abuse back, but the use of physical force does in no way come under self defense.
Lastly this being a petty issue which keeps on happening should not be a big concern. However, if she does go to the police station it might be possible that the two of you will be called to the police station for some question and answers.
