Resignation of association professor

My father is an associate professor in a semi government college, his age is 56 and he wants to resign from his job. He is left with 4-6 years of job tenure, i just want to ask*, if he resigns today will he would be getting salary of his job tenure left and after he reaches his age of retirement, then he would be getting his pension like his other colleagues
