Can managing committee revoke transfer of shares?

Hello, Our previous managing committee of our housing society has transferred shares of a member to his son on the basis of an unregistered deed. Is it possible for the current managing committee to revoke the transfer as it was illegal? There appears to be no record of the transfer in the managing committee minutes book or the share register. The ex-managing committee has merely recorded the transfer on the share certificate.
