I am a widow and mother of two minor girls from Kadmat Island, UT of Lakshadweep. My husband went missing at sea while fishing, in the year 2015 and is missing till date. Now we need legalhireship certificate for availing compensation from Lakshadweep Administration. Since man missing cases are rare here. No standard procedure exist here. How can I obtain hireshipcertificate.
1. Is there any provision to obtain legal hireship of missing person?
2. If so, list of documents to be produced?
A.Hi client,
You first need to lodge a missing complaint against your husband. There are a number of ways to gain a legal certificate. You can gain a certificate firstly by filing a suit. In some states authorities like the local councillor also issues a legal heir certificate. You can see the same, if it's permitted in your area.
Thank you

A.Dear Madam,
As per the Evidence Act, a person missing for seven years is presumed to dead. However you need to first get a FIR done for the man missing and based on the reports of the police, you can file a declaration suit for affirming the death. With the decree from the court, you can approach the authorities to issue you the legal-ship certificate.
