More information will be needed in order to guide you properly as to from whom you have taken the loan and is there a written agreement for that loan. If yes then before the due date they cannot force you to pay the amount.

You just bounce the cheque and proceed otherwise you have to face lot of problems and in the meanwhile file a civil suit on the basis of promissory note thus you may get ex-parte decree even though he is absconded.
