Neighbours harassing elderly parents in Kerala, India Neighbours harassing elderly parents in Kerala, India

My parents are living alone in our house in Kerala, India. Me and my brother are outside India on our work. These days frequently our parents are complaining about our neighbours threatening and harrassing in various ways. It's so disheartening to see them in tears everyday. They had complained to the police 2 or 3 times and the police had come to their help. However, it doesn't solve the problem. The neighbour who stays on the front side of our house now makes his dog poop in front of our house, eventhough we have a wall there, but my parents are not able to sit on the verandah because of the bad smell of the dog poop. They tried to say this to the neighbour and asked them to use the back side of the plot to make the dog poop, but they are being adamant that they'll do it there exactly in front of our house. The other neighbour is always threatening my father. My father is even afraid of walking around in our own premises because the other neighbour is always using abusive language and keeps threatening my father. My parents are over 70 years of age and are soft spoken. They are retired persons from respectable government jobs and want to spend the rest of their lives peacefully, but unfortunately they are being mentally tortured on a daily basis by our neighbours. We have been living in that house for over 27 years now and this harrasment has started since 5 years now, when me and my brother is away from our house.
I want to know, how can we help our parents to live peacefully in their own house. What can we do to help our dear parents?
It's with great pain that I am writing this. Please help me.

A.You can do following things to help your parents from the torture they are facing :-

Firstly , Report it to the police station that is located at your parent's place (jurisdiction),
Secondly, approach Elders Helplines numbers which is available across India and tell them the situation,
Also file a complaint to the municipality department of the area stating the problem of dog poop .
I would further advise you to keep a caretaker/watchman for safety purposes which would be help to your parents as you are out of India.

A.1. ask your parents to register a formal complaint against the neighborors in a written mode with copy to the Higher police officials,
2. he can also file ma civil suit against the neighborors to restrain them from creating any nuisance in their peaceful life
3. he can also make a complaint to the municipality regarding the matter (dog poop)
4. do share your parents concern through tweeter (tweet the concern to the State Home Minister, Chief Minister)

A.I have gone through your query in detail.
1) As you and your brother are working out of India for work purpose and as you have tried various attempts by giving the police complaint and this has just been a temporary relief to you all
2) So a practical solution to this would be that you are appoint a watchman in your premises and so as at least we will safeguard some of the interest and there will be not much harm ………it is better to spend a little bit of money rather than to keep on continuing the same story again as this neighbours will not try to understand as what your parents are going through
3) As already your parents are senior citizen but on a safer side make a complaint via email to the local police station as such harassment is been there from neighbours better get installed your house with a few CCTV cameras IP with live surveillance on some laptop or email and also recruit a security guard from a reputed Security Agency

If you realize my professional skills, the time & efforts put in by me needs to be truly appreciated, and then Please “CLICK MY LIKES/ THUMBS UP/GIFT” button shown below this reply format & also CLICK/ WRITE a “REVIEW” in 5 star as I have answered your query in detail. A.Hello sir,

I understand how you feel. It's a matter of great concern. You see if you can visit your parents please do visit them at least once in a month. Please ask them to call the police and complain about those adamant neighbors. If you visit your parents, please make sure you should file a written complaint with local police station. If they are unresponsive please file a written complaint with the DCP of that area, it possible please also take a written appointment by writing to the P.S ( secretary) of the DCP.

Hope I was helpful.
