Last year a FIR was registered by my brother for my younger sister unnatural death. He has not collected the FIR copy and the Post marten report .Since I was staying out of the station .so I had less information about the case .When I visited the local police station they said the case has been closed recently and they refer court for to collect all those information. My concerns are as follow

1. How the police closed the case without intimating us ?
Is it as per the law and we need to go to court.
Whether I don't have right to collect the FIR and Medical report .since the FIR is not registered my me.
2. If we are not happy for the investigation how to ask for re-investigation the CASE ?

According to the facts, you can surely collect the copies of FIR and the post mortem from the court, than those copies must be observed keenly to collect the evidences, if found, you may proceed for an application of reopening the case.

A.Dear Client
As per your inputs, you first collect all the copies related to the case in the concern court applying for the copies from the court, once you get the all copies in your hand, you consult an advocate to get the actual reason why the case has been closed, then you can file a petition in the court to reopen the case if you have got any evidences related to your sister's un natural death
