Promise to marry is per se not legally enforceable, unless with the pretext of marriage he had expolited you in any manner.

A.promise to marry or informing your parents about her intention to marry are per se any offense unless he has exploited you under the pretext of the promise in which case you can take strong criminal action against him depending on the manner in which he has utilized you.
