My query is regarding security deposit which I paid during renting a house in Bangalore. Recently in Jan I vacated the house and came to my hometown Allahabad. In the start owner said he would return the money in a week but now it's been 4 months n now he has stopped picking up my call.
What should I do now.

You may have to visit Bangalore and file a complaint at the police station which has jurisdictional authority over the area where your rented house was. Otherwise, you may also consider lodging a complaint about the advancement of the security deposit with the rent controller authority in the area.

A.Hi,
You can lodge a police complaint against the owner at the police station which has jurisdiction of the place where your rented house was situated. A recourse would be to lodge a complaint with the Rent Controller who are empowered through the Karnataka Rent Act to deal landlord-tenant disputes.
