A.Hi,
Before approaching the court, please take note of the alternatives: You can lodge a police complaint u/S 498-A of the IPC for cruelty towards women or you can also register a online complaint at the website of National Commission for Women.

A.Hi,
The court takes suo-moto cognisance of cases in grave cases. It is advisable to first lodge a complaint with the police u/S 498-A of the IPC against your sister's in-laws. You may also register an online complaint with the National Commission for Women at their official website.

A.You should ask your sister before taking any step in this direction because she might have to face their wrath after the complain. In any case there are two option available to you either to go to police or to the court directly. You must meet a lawyer and ask him to file your case or get a police complain drafted for you so that a flawless and legally strong case can be made from the very beginning against them.
