I am a Marketing Associate at a company that is trying to file an L1b visa. The company is into advertising technology, particularly programmatic advertising. What can I do to put up the case that my role will qualify for specialized knowledge? Is there any additional training I can do now? How would I sell this to an immigration counselor?

A.Hi,
As per the official description of L1B visa reads as "The L-1B nonimmigrant classification enables a U.S. employer to transfer a professional employee with specialized knowledge relating to the organization’s interests from one of its affiliated foreign offices to one of its offices in the United States. This classification also enables a foreign company that does not yet have an affiliated U.S. office to send a specialized knowledge employee to the United States to help establish one. " I dont think you are qualified to get the visa.

A.Hi,
The L1B visa is a nonimmigrant visa issued to foreign employees with specialized knowledge being transferred to their company's US offices. Marketing Associate is very generic job profile which does not fit in the profile of specialized skill set description of the visa.

A.See L1B Visa are issued to an employee of a Company whose foreign offices need specialized skillset people at the onsite location. As long as you keep saying yourself as Marketing Associate which may not align with the skillet required at the onsite the L1B Vise may not be obtained. See this vis-a-vis Pre-sales. Pre-sales Team regardless of what skillet they have they get travel visa to visit any country. You need to work within your company and team find out some workaround withing your organization.
