Am I liable for my ex property owner's debts ? Am I liable for my ex property owner's debts ?

I recently purchased a property in May 2021, and now in July, i have been served a notice from a person seeking he has given the ex owner of the property a loan of certain amount and that I'm liable to pay in case he fails to do so

A.It is necessary to know whether the ex owner gave that property in mortgage to take loan from the person who has given Notice. It is necessary to scrutinize that Notice and its legal perspective because it seems that the property which you have purchased had been given as security by the ex owner to get that loan. It is necessary to know whether the ex owner at the time of your purchase handed over his Original Title Deed to you or not and whether you had made proper searching before purchasing that property.

A.Jab tak aap apne husband ke kisi rinh ke guarantor na ho. Tab tak aap aise reenh ko dene ke adhikari nhi hai.
Isliye aap ko koi tension lene ki aayaskta nhi hai.
Yadi aap ke pass koi aisi property kharidi gai hai jab aap ke husband dawra reenh liya gya hai. Tab aap ko problems ho sakti hai.
Jisne notice diya hai uska pur jor se jabab do.

A.Hi,
No, you are not obliged to pay the ex-property owner's obligation since you are not the person's legal heir. Please do not fall prey to any kind of landlord deception in this respect.
Thank you very much.

A.Dear Sir,
You are not liable to pay anything and such person cannot file any case against you. Hope it is not mortgaged to him. If mortgaged only you are liable to pay. You must check Encumbrance register in the sub registrar office.
