Govt. Employee doing MLM bussiness Govt. Employee doing MLM bussiness

If a government employee unknowingly joined MLM bussiness and later after knowing about the government rule(no public servant shall indulge in any bussiness activity) he left that MLM business without doing any trade or commerce or gaining any profit. Will he get any punishment if anybody filed a case against him or complained about him?
What punishment will he get?

A.Hello Sir/Ma'am
The All India Service Rules (Conduct) of 1968 prohibits Government employees from engaging in any trade or business. Other such rules such as Central Government (Conduct) Rules also prohibit the same. Government employees cannot do private business without the previous sanction from the government.
But there are very few chances that anybody would file case for this anf also you didn't invested any money in it, you just enrolled for MLM scheme, you must not worry unless some one complaint for the same.
Thanks

A.If the employee joined by mistake and also he did not earn anything out of that and left the MLM business then even after some one complaining against him should not matter much. There must be a rule book/ service rules/ HR manual which would have defined the penalty of this kind of indiscipline activity. you can refer to that about the punishment but for sure there won't be any termination.
