Educational Institution trying to force students to pay the next years fees by cancelling their Attendance Educational Institution trying to force students to pay the next years fees by cancelling their Attendance

Hello . Our Institute has already collected our 3rd year fees. We are in our third year now. But recently they started pressuring us to pay fourth year fees claiming that they have already mentioned that in the fees structure during admission. And now they are not allowing us to attend classes because of not paying the next year fees. Since pandemic was not any vacation for us, our parents are struggling for wages. In legal sense, what can we do against the institution?

Our batchmates have started paying fees, but some of us still can't pay it. We have tried asking them for an extension already. But they wouldn't give us any and are asking us to pay full tuition fees

When we were in second lockdown, the whole batch had decided not to pay fees before exam. We all sent emails to the management regarding fees issue, but after exam people started paying once they pressurized us more. We are losing attendance daily and can't write finals if we have shortage of attendance and we might have to write supplementary exam then.

A.Hi, student of your college should engage a legal counsel collectively who may be willing to represent your case in the appropriate court. There are numerous institution that have granted a waiver in college fees to some extent in view of the adverse impact of COVID-19 on many parents' incomes. Some institutions have also waived off any late fees in this regard. These may be used as strong examples to strengthen your case.

A.Write a letter to the education department of the state where the institute is situated and let them take action against the institute. In case the department does not do anything then you can altogether move the High Court by filing a writ petition.
