We are using a meter from June 2015 till Feb 2022.got some issue in meter in Feb and get it replaced .
After replacingvthe old meter we got a letter from pspcl regarding we had tampered with the meter and have to pay the amount of INR 62000 plus compound money of INR 15000.In which I am not accused and not aware of any tampering with the meter
As per the facts which had been provided, it is better to pay the amount otherwise they may initiate a legal action against you.

A.Hello,
if at all the replacement of your meter (DEFECTIVE) was done by electricity department than you definitely have recourse and the issue of defective meter was raised to the electricity department.
Otherwise get it sorted by paying to the department or else you will have to pay higher amount later.
