It is a cheating case filed in 2018. B’coz of pandemic situation, the case was postponed till date. Now, I am not able to find it in e-court app.it says “case number doesn’t exist”. Can a case be deleted without petitioner notice?

A.First of all no cases can be deleted from the records of the court complex. Secondly, there must be some serve error in the ecourt portal hence it is showing like that. You need to visit the specific court room where the matter was pending and ask the court staff for showing you the specific case record to you through an advocate (if necessary). Then you can check the physical record of the case matter you were searching for in the ecourt. Thirdly, a matter may be disposed off by the learned court or withdrawn in presence of both the parties only. And such record shall also be shown or available in the ecourt or office records in courts in future also.

A case cannot be closed just like that without the complainant or petitioner being made aware of it. Many a times the cases are not properly updated in the e court and hence you get error messages like that. You are suggested to visit the court and find out about the case status.
