Nursing break as per Maternity Act Nursing break as per Maternity Act

Dear Sir/Mam,

I am Anu Singh, Manager (HR & Administration) in Curadev Pharma, a R&D company based in Noida. I am seeking advice on legality of nursing breaks as per the Maternity Act. Is it mandatory to provide nursing breaks twice to a female employee joined office after availing maternity leave?
Look forward to hear from you.

Thanks!

A.The maternity laws have made suggestion towards the same but each state has its own rules in this respect which you will require to check for the place where your office is located. Although big corporates are investing in their female employees, through provision of childcare support institutions or creche, in order to retain them when they become mothers but again the infrastructure is concern and timings for such breaks will be dependent on various factors. So you may decide accordingly. Thank you.

A.Dear Sir,
No such provision is there in maternity Act. You may deny such facility to such employee and ask her to get a letter from labor department addressed to your company.
