Family settlement issue
Respect Sir,
22 years ago my grandmother and uncles gave my father a piece of land from ancestral land as a part of family settlement ( which was recorded on a stamp paper with signatures of family members and witnesses, but not registered) . My father and us built a house brick by brick with our hard earned money all these years on this land.
Now after 22 years few of my uncles are asking for a new family settlement as they disagree with the previous one ( clearly they want our land as it's by roadside). Now we are afraid of losing our house.
What's the legal angle in this and how can we save our house?
Thank you.
A.Dear client I am sorry to hear that but in this case you can file a suit in the court or you can negotiate with your family and resolve the issue amicably.
