I was staying at Jayanagar 5th block 2 bhk rented house with my father and i intially rented the place in Feb 2020 but and kept my stuff but as the house was not properly ready and due to March 2020 covid lockdown started with all movements restricted could not occupied the house till june 2020 although i paid full rent to my money minded beggar landlord now I stayed till March 2022 almost 2 year's but in March 2022 due to my father suffering mental stroke i had to leave the house on urgent basis and to get him hospitalized for almost 25 days i had to vacate the premises and to keep a nurse 24/7 for my father's declining health moved to a rental apartment near to my sister's place for help and overlooking my father's declining health. Initially only i told my landlord that its a emergency situation regarding my father's health .. but he didn't return the deposit amount stating every month that he will pay since Mar 2022.
But now it's October 2022 he is making excuses for deposit amount return please suggest what legal FIR or procedure to be followed

A.Dear client,

You ought to have issued legal notice to the landlord before vacating the premises. Issue a lawyer's notice now to him expressing your intention to vacate and claim the recovery of the advance deposit. 2. If he refuses to refund the deposit then you may file a lawsuit for recovery along with interest against him.
