If in my defamation notice to the opposite party, an amount of 1crore was mentioned, later when I move to the court after giving sufficient time to the accused, can u reduce the amount to 50lakhs as the civil court fee is high. Or since I quoted 1crore in my initial notice, I cannot change the amount and have to pay the required fee as per the amount quoted in the notice

A.Dear Sir,
Yes, you can reduce your compensation amount saying that you had waived off remaining amount and ready to fight for certain amount only and not full amount.
