Repurcussions of Resigning after signing a Letter of Intent Repurcussions of Resigning after signing a Letter of Intent

I work at a school where I had signed a letter of intent. However I got offered a better job and resigned from my old post. The old school now is unwilling to provide me with the experience letter or even acknowledging my resignation which I shall require in order to join my new place of work.
Kindly advise me on this issue. Thank you.
