Hi my question is that if any private institutions makes up a rule, and on breaking it a fine [100 rupees for example] is to be paid.
So is it important for the institution to issue a receipt after payment of fine and if not what legal step must be taken or is there any legal law for the same ie is receipt mandatory to pay a fine for amount more than 20 rupees and if not according to which section/law is the institution or person be held liable?

A.Dear client,

In countries like India , it is extremely common for private institutions like schools to have fines to the tune of 100-200 rupees imposed for violations pertaining to uniform, attire, etc.
It is uncommon to therefore pursue a receipt being issued for such fines. In some cases, private institutions might also not issue receipts because the money being collected through those fines are written off in their accounts books. Taking all this into consideration, there is no set in stone law in India that holds private institutions liable for taking fines to the tune of 100 rupees.

A.Dear Client,

Irrespective of the nature of the organization i.e, private or public, any financial transaction made between the public and the organization or establishment shall be made on the issue of money receipt or tax invoice. An institution having rules for charging fines on breach of any standing rules or instruction is duty bound to issue money receipt at the time of collection of fine irrespective of the value of fines. On denial by the institution to issue a receipt of the fine, you may bring the matter to the notice of the Head of the Institution, Dist. Inspector of School and concerned Board of Education under whom the institution got the recognition or affiliation for redressal of your grievance. Failing which you may take the recourse of law and for that you need to visit an Advocate for guidance and steps.
