Refund of fees Refund of fees

I had taken admission in X University BALLB program in 2020 but I cancelled my admission in October 2020. I mailed my college for refund of fees but there was no reply from their side I even sent UGC guidelines for the same but again there was no reply. So can I now file a case against the university and if yes then can I file it in consumer court?

Yes, you can file a complaint against your college under section 35 of the consumer protection act for unfair trade practice adopted by them. You can file it in the consumer court

A.Dear Client,
A complaint under Consumer Protection Act, 2019 is required to be filed before the Consumer Court within two years from the date of the cause of action. Here Cause of action arose on the cancellation of admission by you in October 2020, therefore, a complaint against the University for deficiency in service is required to be filed within September 2022, so your claim is now barred by limitation u/s,69 of the Act. However, still you can file your complaint before the consumer fora with a prayer for condonation of delay in filing the complaint within the prescribed time limit stating authentic reasons/grounds that prevent you from filing the complaint within the time. In case the Court finds merit in your prayer your complaint may be allowed and an order shall be passed after hearing the complaint accordingly. Reach out to an Advocate for guidance and steps.
