Name correction in the EPF

My name is typed erroneously by the EPF office. When I am trying add my service It was noticed. I have submitted form 13 also to correct the name. However, they are not accepting the Form 13 and asking for Govt Gazette notification. Question is : Why should I go Govt Gazette notification since my name was not changed from the beginning. The mistake was done by EPF office
Form 13 is used for the transfer of PF Account from one employer to another. For correction of your name in the EPF record you need to submit Form - 23 which is also known as PF joint declaration form to your Regional PF Office. You can use this form to correct your details in PF like your name, father/husband's name, date of birth, date of joining, date of leaving etc. along with supporting documents via your employer if your name has been incorrectly recorded in the EPF records. The following are the accepted documents to make the change/correction in the spelling of the name in your EPF record i.e., Passport. Driving License. PAN Card. Aadhaar Card. Voter Identity Card. ESIC Identity Card. Ration Card. Bank Passbook copy etc. You can also try for correction in the name through online mode following the steps Step 1: Go to the UAN member portal and log in with your UAN and password. Step 2: Now go to the manage option in the menu bar and select the basic details option from the sub-menu. Step 3: Now you can find an option to correct your details. Step 4: Enter your name, dob as per your Aadhar and also enter your Aadhar number. Step 5: After entering all the required details click on submit.

Thank you so much for your response. I would like to inform you that I have submitted the Joint Declaration Form along with the Aadhar Card for this contest. However, the claim has been rejected due to an incorrect name. I personally visited the PF office to inquire about the reason for this refusal. They have indicated that my name is completely inaccurate in the PF records, and they advise me to obtain a Gazette Notification from the government to rectify this issue. I have provided all of my documents, including Passport, PAN Card, Aadhar Card, Bank Details, and Voter's Card. My name is consistent across all these documents, with the exception of the PF records where an error has occurred.
Could you please advise on the appropriate course of action, including the possibility of sending a legal notice to correct my name?

Mr. Ramnaiah, you are already advised by the concerned authority i.e, PF Office to obtain a Gazette Notification from the government to rectify this issue. So, you need to follow their instruction for the purpose instead of issuing legal notice. Thank you.
