Credit Card issue
Dear Sir/Madam,
i was holding a credit card from a bank with 47k limit. One fine day, i got a call from axis bank customer care and informed i am selected for another card. they told me i will get additional 47k credit limit and made me do the application on the app on the call itself. and when i hesitated to give the application number, they even told me my old card will be blocked if i dont.
all this was lie and what happened was i was only getting the same limit which will be shared among the cards.
i got the card delivered and later only i understood this. i have complained this to axis bank and they to;ld me i have accepted the terms and conditions in the app when i was applying.
they asking me to pay the charges due on the card.
i have the call recording of the customer care with me and i would like to know if i can sue the bank for this
You were issued a credit card by the Bank following the standing policy and accessing your repayment capacity, CIBIL records etc. Now as regards the issue of 2nd Credit Card which was issued by the Bank on your acceptance on virtual mode with misleading or halfhearted information, you need to file a written complaint first to the concerned Bank for deactivating the 2nd Credit Card which was issued on the basis of virtual acceptance based on misleading information. if they did not respond to your complaint then file a complaint online simultaneously at the link: https://www.axisbank.com/contact-us/grievance-redressal/retail-banking-grievance-redressal of the concerned Bank and if an unsatisfactory reply is received or no reply is received within 30 of receipt of the Complaint by the Bank, then a complaint under the RBI integrated Ombudsman scheme, 2021. shall be made online on the portal (https://cms.rbi.org.in). The complaint is to be made to the Ombudsman within one year after the complainant has received the reply from the concerned Bank to the complaint or, where no reply is received, within one year and 30 days from the date of the complaint.
If you believe that you have been misled or deceived by the bank during the process of obtaining the second credit card, you may consider taking the following steps:
RBI's Banking Ombudsman: You can file a complaint with the Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) Banking Ombudsman. The Banking Ombudsman is an authority that looks into grievances against banks and can help mediate the issue.
Consumer Complaint: If you believe that the bank has engaged in unfair trade practices or violated consumer protection laws, you can file a complaint with the appropriate consumer dispute redressal forum. In India, the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC) and the State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission handle such complaints.
Escalate the Issue: If your complaint is not adequately addressed by the bank, consider escalating the matter to higher authorities within the bank, such as the nodal officer or the grievance redressal officer.
Thank You
