Interest and repayment of Housing society dues

My housing society is deducting any repayments made first against interest instead of principal which is leading to compounding.
Before any repayments were deducted from principal outstanding but without notifying the members the society has made this change.
We have bills which clearly show a difference in accounting method followed and asked the managing committee to clarify but they have refused to answer.
What legal action can be taken in this case and is it possible to file a case of harassment against the managing committee as they have refused to correct the accounts for several years ?

Society is governed by the Byelaws approved and registered by the Registrar of Cooperative Society. When your appeal correction of anomalies in billing is not responded to by the Society, you may escalate the matter before the Registrar of Cooperative Society for redressal of your complaint/grievance failing which you need to serve a legal notice and file a civil suit against the Society to get appropriate reliefs in the matter.
