Change of Surname

I am a retired employee from Kolkata Municipal Corporation holding surname Bandyopadhyay but all other documents holding surname Banerjee. Though Banerjee & Bandyopadhyay is same.
Now I want to change my surname Bandyopadhyay to Banerjee in pension account to match digitally as same person.
Kindly advice how it has to be done.

Name change can be done legally through Government Gazette. You can give your name as on your SSLC certificate, PAN, etc., to the Pension Authority together with an Affidavit (duly attested by Notary Public) that both are your names only.

You can give your surname Bandyopadhyay as appears in your service records with an Affidavit (duly attested by Notary Public) declaring there in that both the surname, Banerjee & Bandyopadhyay belongs to the same and one identical person and a copy of Gazette Notification to the Pension Disbursing Authority for correction of your surname in the pension record.
