Child been humiliated in classroom

One of my student studying in class XI complained to me that the one of the lady teacher is constantly asking the child to look into her eyes but the child is not feeling comfortable in that. When the child do not follow what she says, she goes and complains to the principal about his disrespect. Is she doing the right thing??
