Is there any court fee required for notarization of an affidavit for filing a case before the consumer commission? If yes, in that case, what amount of court fee should be affixed?

A.Dear Client,
No court fees are required for the notarization of an affidavit for filing a complaint before the Consumer Commission under Sec.35 of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019. A notarial stamp valued at Rs.10 is affixed by the Notary Public while certifying the authenticity of a document under Sec.8 of the Notaries Act, 1952.

A.Dear Client,
Notarization of an affidavit does not involve the payment of a court fee. Notarization is a process performed by a notary public to verify the authenticity of a document and the identity of the person signing it. It is not a court-related fee or charge.

However, when filing a case before a Consumer Commission in India, there may be applicable court fees for the initiation of the case. The court fee depends on various factors, including the nature and value of the claim being filed. These fees are typically specified in the relevant court fee schedule applicable to the particular state or Union Territory where the Consumer Commission is located.

It is advisable to consult with a legal professional or visit the official website of the relevant Consumer Commission to determine the applicable court fees for filing a case. The court fee schedule and procedures may vary from one state or Union Territory to another, so it's essential to ensure that you comply with the specific requirements of the jurisdiction where you intend to file your case.
Thank you.
