Fined for PUC not updated within due date Fined for PUC not updated within due date

Dear Sir, I was outside of India for one year and couldn't update pollution certificate within due date. On returning I found my bike having problem, and somehow sent to service center with help of a mechanic. On returning it was late evening so it wa not possible for me to update the certificate on that day. Traffic police caught me while I was stopped due to bike problem and fined me 2000 rs. I told them the whole fact, I was not in the city for long and bike was not in a condition to drive to reach PUC center. Can I fight with this? I have all proofs of my travel and bike problem

A.Dear Client,
For renewal of the PUC certificate of the vehicle, the owner need not be present physically before the certifying center, anybody can visit the center with the vehicle with the required documents to obtain a PUC Certificate in respect of the vehicle on payment of requisite fees. So, grounds for an excuse are not tenable in the situation.

A.Dear Client,
It's a good start that you have documentation of your travel and proof of the bike's condition. Ensure that you have all relevant documents, including any proof of travel, service center receipts, and any communication with the mechanic. In many cases, traffic fines can be appealed. You can check whether there is an option to appeal the fine within a certain period. The appeal process typically involves providing evidence and explanations, such as the ones you've mentioned. It's important to follow all legal procedures and deadlines when appealing or discussing the fine with the authorities.
