A.Dear Client,
According to Section 47 of the Motor Vehicle Act 1988, if a motor vehicle registered in one State is kept in another State, for a period exceeding twelve months, an application for re-assignment of registration mark in the other State is required to be submitted by the owner of the vehicle within a period of thirty days from the date of expiry of such period of twelve months to the registering authority whose jurisdiction the vehicle is at the time. You must first get the car deregistered from the state where it was originally registered in order to transfer the registration of the vehicle to another state. Applying for the NOC by submitting Form 28 to the RTO of the original state and apply for fresh registration to the RTO of the new state.
