Hello Sir/Madam.
Actually I got into a relationship with a girl 6 months ago online through instagram. She was following my account from a year but I didn't know she used to like me. Then after I fell in love with her. I told her that for marriage I will contact parents after 3-4 years in between we won't talk. But she used to talk on a regular basis which I somewhat disliked it. Then just after 2-3 weeks I broke up with her. Even I didn't see her picture. By the talking she would say that she used to get a lot of marriage proposals but she rejected it and even the boys of her class used to like her. I thought she must be very beautiful but she wasn't. I broke up with her just after 2-3 weeks and told her that I cant love you 100% and I didn't want to waste her life so that its why I broke up now not after 3-4 years after. Its been 6 months I am scared that if she suicides will I be accused? After break up I didn't even talk to her, but in her profile picture she puts various quotes of being Patient. So that's my fault??
Your concern is regarding the abetment of suicide which is covered under section 306 of the Indian Penal Code which states that: If any person commits suicide, whoever abets the commission of such suicide, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term not exceeding ten years, and shall also be liable to fine.
Here you have not encouraged or made the girl commit suicide so unless there is any direct proof for the same there will be no legal consequences for you if she commits suicide.
