THE CRITERION FOR EWS CERTIFICATE MENTIONS - The Property held by a “Family” in different location pave/cities have been clubbed while applying the land or
property holding test to determine EWS status .
My family has two immovable properties -
1) residential flat of 50 sq meter
2) residential plot of 70 sq meter.
To become eligible for EWS one should not own residential plot 100 sq meter or more.
so am I eligible for EWS as residential plot is only of 70 sq meter but clubbing together with flat it is 120 sq meter

A.Dear Client
According to the criterion you mentioned, the EWS (Economically Weaker Section) certificate considers the aggregate of all the properties held by a family in different locations while applying the land or property holding test. In your case, you have a residential flat of 50 square meters and a residential plot of 70 square meters. As per the requirement, the total area of the properties is 120 sq meters when combined. Since the criterion specifies that the residential plot should not exceed 100 sq meters, the combination of your residential flat and residential plot may not qualify for the EWS category. The total area of both properties together surpasses the threshold specified in the criteria for an EWS certificate.
