Mental abusive parents Mental abusive parents

I have been experiencing verbal abuse since my childhood. When I was child they use to beat me and also tried to kill me by suffocating under pillow or by throwing on wall. Now I’m 20 years old and still feel insecure and afraid of my parents, my dad drinks and start to abuse me verbally that cause fear and anxiety and my mother doesn’t help me out. I have bf whose family are supportive to me but my parents cut the relation and try to control me. I don’t know what to do. I want to help me out because this is happening more nowadays. Please help me out!

A.Dear Client,
You have the option to file a case against your father under Section 12 of the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005, especially if the harasser is a family member, like your father or brother. To do so, you, a Protection Officer, or someone acting on your behalf can present an application to the Magistrate seeking reliefs under the Act. It's crucial to document any domestic incidents, and the Magistrate will consider reports from the Protection Officer or service provider before making any decisions. Additionally, you can file a complaint with the local police, potentially leading to your father's arrest or a warning. Seeking assistance from social service organizations like Bachpan Bachao Andolan or contacting helplines such as CHILD HELPLINE NUMBER 1800 102 7222, GOVT. HELPLINE NUMBER 1098, and reporting to the National Women Commission or National Human Rights Commission can provide support. As a mature and educated individual, taking informed action is essential to address your situation and work towards a happier and secure life.
Thankyou

A.Dear Client,
While I sympathize with your plight, it is to inform you that in the horrible ordeal, as stated in the query, you can complain about your unruly and errant father, if he is subjecting you to domestic violence. You can file a case against your father u/s.12 of the PWDV Act, 2005 before the Magistrate concerned when you are related to the harasser by blood (For example, your father, brother, etc.),. While going to Court, keep in mind that you must have been subjected to domestic violence by someone with whom you have shared not only a domestic relationship but also a household. Under Section 12(1) of The Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005, an aggrieved person or a Protection Officer or any other person on behalf of the aggrieved person may present an application to the Magistrate seeking one or more reliefs under this Act, provided that before passing any order on such application, the Magistrate shall take into consideration any domestic incident report received by him from the Protection Officer or the service provider. You can also file a complaint against your own father with the local police station, and the police can even arrest or warn him not to repeat the offense. Alternatively, you can seek the help of a social service organization or NGO like the Bachpan Bachao Andolan by contacting their Complaint Cell(24 X 7) helpline, CHILD HELPLINE NUMBER 1800 102 7222, GOVT. HELPLINE NUMBER 1098, Writing to the Chairperson, BBA through email to: [email protected]. Further, you can inform your plights to the Chairperson, National Women Commission( Email::ncw[at]nic[dot]in, Complaint & Investigation Cell:: complaintcell-ncw[at]nic[dot]in or State Women Commission and Chairperson, National Human Rights Commission online at (https://nhrc.nic.in/complaints/complaints/how-to-file-a-complaints). Being a mature and educated woman you need to take suitable and well-informed action to redress your plights to make your life happier and secure.
