Money Lent to a Friend

I had lent 3.5 lacs to a friend in Nov 2017 for making some interest. He was a close friend. I got some interest upto May 2018. After that he has not paid me anything. He is not even receiving my calls since last 5-6 months.
I have proof of payment. But we did not have any written agreement.
What legal can I take to recover the money ?

A.send him the legal notice, thereafter file a suit for recovery. Your money will be recovered.
