Hi Sir/Madam,
I am citizen of India & my fiance is a British citizenship
I just wanted to ask, is registration of marriage required after the religious marriage in gurudwara?

A.For the purpose of valid marriage and its registration between an Indian citizen with foreigner in India, best is the Civil marriage under the Special Marriage Act,1954.
The religious marriage can be done in Gurdwara if parties so desire but if both are not Sikh by religion that marriage will not be valid marriage at all and it's mere registration will not validate it.
The parties in the case definitely will try for immigration to foreign country after the marriage and for spouse visa to UK, the Gurdwara marriage between both parties who are not Sikh by religion will be considered invalid marriage by British Immigration authority.
Civil marriage under the Special Marriage Act not only is valid marriage it's registration and Marriage certificate under section 13 of the Act, valid proof of valid marriage.

A.Registration of a marriage is compulsory and it is also safe to do the same as it will then act as a documentary evidence of your marriage which as and when required can be produced as a proof of your valid marriage which has been solemnized according to proper rites and customs and has also been registered.
To be on the safe side it is advised that you register the same.
