I am a govt.servant (tamilnadu). Shall I appear for my case as party-in-person without my department permission?

A.You can but it is better you state such to your superior in writing. As, this may help you in case your superiors try to play mischief with you.

Sir,
The case is about the fixation of seniority in service matters, in the same department. So, if I want to appear as party-in-person, should i have to get permission? Please quote the rules behind this.

In such case you better give them a notice regarding this. If they deny in that case they will go against law as law states that a person has the right to appear in party before a court. Now if they try to curb your right then they will be at fault.
No there is no such rule that you need to take permission of such. But, it's for your betterment because such will not allow your superior to play mischief against you as you are going against them. Moreover, on the 1st date you make take a decree from court for such.

A.please specify what type of case/ forum you want to appear by person, Yes you can appear by person, it is right is available every citizen of India to defend his case by himself (only thing you need to know is procedure and practice of the concerned case adopted by respective forum)
