Notice from Custom Department About Drone Purchase
4 years ago
Hello Sir,
I'm a student and passionate about photography. A few months ago I tried to buy a Drone from Aliexpress which is available for around Rs: 2,000-/ for the purpose of photography.
I ordered the Drone from "Ali Express" where it was offered at the very lowest price. Rs: 2,000/- (Around $28 in USD)
I was not aware of the fact that it is a restricted item in India and even I have not notified by the seller about the restrictions at the time of order placement. So, when I got the notice from Customs
But, 2 months ago I got a notice from the Postal Appraising Department, Meenambakkam, Chennai. "Office of the Principal, Commissioner of Customs (AIRPORT)" and they are requested to appear for the personal hearing with all relevant documents before the appraising office of Customs, PD-AIR (Chennai-1)
So, Is there any other alternative to answer them through email/postal? Can this be resolved through postal or email appearance.? (Or) Should I appear for the personal hearing?
Can somebody help me with how I should resolve this issue?
You may engage a local lawyer and try to resolve the issue by such advocate by paying fine etc.
