Hi i got mutually divorced on September 30th,2022 and received order copy from my lawyer. How long should i wait to get married again? Registrar office people are sayin that i have to wait one year


A. Dear Client,

90-days period for the appeal is given to both the parties from the day of decree of divorce and if there is no appeal made during this period then either of the parties become eligible to remarry after the given appeal period gets over.

To file Mutual Consent Divorce(MCD), minimum one year continuous separation between husband and wife is mandatory so that can't be waived off usually but after expiry of that one year separation period, when that MCD case be allowed through joint petition of husband and wife, thereafter for waiver of six months' cooling off period, joint application can be made before the Court.
