Charges due after land sale Charges due after land sale

Hi, I sold my land last year in April, 2019. I completed the process legally without any dispute and to the satisfaction of the purchaser. The purchaser had asked his lawyer to verify details about his land. Now today the purchaser is saying there are some charges ( tax or penalty not clear) due on the land and he is asking me to pay the charges? Am I liable to pay the charges after sale of land when the process was completed to purchaser's satisfaction? Can you please help?

A.Yes, you are liable to pay due texes and charges if the property tex etc was not being paid before selling the land. Property must be encumbrance free and after selling the property you will be liable if the taxes are not being paid.
