There are some people defaming threatening me uploading picture in there whatsaap DP and Facebook but when I'm directly sending them message what is my fault they are completely denying everything saying I'm staying different state these pictures are there personal but there a group of people continually doing it from more than a year as because I can not prove their crime they using there whats app dp, Facebook profile picture, smart insulting public post they are doing all these in a very strategic way. Please help me about this how can prove their crime I've stored all their picture as evidence but directly they denied when sent them message, please give me some legal resulation how do I prove their crime ?
If they are not mentioning you specifically and publishing it to the general public, then they are protected by the right to freedom of speech and expression. If there is evidence linking you to their posts, then you will have to approach the concerned cyber police and file a complaint under Sections 499 and 500 of the Indian Penal Code. You can also file a suit claiming damages for defamation.
