MY CAR HAD AN ACCIDENT WHICH WAS DRIVEN BY MY RELATIVE WHO WENT TO VISIT HIS FRIEND. A LOWRY HITTED THE CAR FROM BEHIND WHILE PARKED AND HE AND HIS FRIEND WAS SITTING IN THE CAR NO INJURY HAPPEND TO THEM BUT CAR WAS TOTALLY LOST. CAR WAS IN TOTAL LOSS CONDITION SO WE CLAIMED FOR TOTAL LOSS FROM ROYAL SUNDRAM GENERAL INSURANCE. AFTER WE MADE CLAIM 3 WEEKS LATER I GOT A MAIL FROM ROYAL SUNDRAM THAT THEY HAVE HIRED PERSONAL INVESTIGATION PEOPLE TO VERIFY THE ACCIDENT. THEY CALLED ME AND ASKED TO MEET AND THE PERSON WHO WAS DRIVING THE CAR. SO WENT TO MEET HIM THEY TOOK STATEMENT FROM BOTH THE PERSON. SO WE ASKED THEM TO GIVE A COPY OF STATEMENT THAT WE GAVE THEM IN WRITTEN THEY REFUSED TO GAVE THE COPY AS IT WAS CONFIDENTIAL. AFTER RUNNING 2 MONTHS AROUND THEM ASKING WHAT HAPPEND TO CLAIM THEY SENT A MAIL NOT DONT EVEN THEY CALL STATING THAT YOUR VEHCILE WAS USED FOR HIRE AND REWARD PURPOSE AT THE TIME WHEN ACCIDENT HAPPEND SO WE CANT ENTERTAIN THE CLAIM. THEN I WROTE A MAIL TO THEM ASKING THEM WHAT WAS THE SOURCE OF YOUR INFORMATION THAT WE WERE USING IT FOR HIRE AND REWARD PURPOSE AND IF YOU GOT THIS INFORMATION FROMTHE PEOPLE YOU HIRED FOR INVESTIGATION THEN I WANT A COPY OF THE REPORT THEY SUBMITTED AND THE COPY OF STATEMENT THAT WE GAVE TO THEM. SO YESTERDAY I FINALLY CALLED THEM AS THEIR WAS NO RESPONSE FROM THEIR SIDE. THE SURVEYOR TOLD ME THAT YOU CAN GO TO COURT WITH WHAT THE PAPER THEY PROVIDED, THEY CANT SEND THE REPORT OR THE STATEMENT WE GAVE TO THEM. NOW I WANT TO KOW MY OPTION I HAVE.

A.Hi,
You can approach the Court and petition for a stay order on the claim. The Insurance Ombudsman can also be approached to mediate the dispute. We will however, also need to look into the terms of the insurance contract to see if the company is operating unlawfully.
