Rectification of 55 years old sale deed
We have link document of our property executed in 1966 in AP state that has wrong measurement of plot (also width length interchanged) without area specified). The seller in link document not alive and no clue where his family/next generations live/alive or not known to us. However buyer of 1966 (in turn sold property in 1984 to us) is willing to rectify but SRO refuses to rectify as both parties not present. Also SRO says no other alternate way it can be done. The only proof of measurement we have is govt approved lay out plan in 1964. Note current physical measurements are bit less due to neighbors encroachment on late 80s.
Question#: How in such cases we deal as we cant trace after 55 years how many generations of sellers whereabouts.
Note: The current document of ours 1984 has correct measurements but length width still wrong we rectified the same in 2018 and the SRO did it with reluctance.
Now when we want to sell this property prospective buyers demanding 1966 document and objecting 1984 doc correction as not valid as we did not correct base 1966 document first. So what is way out and alternative method to correct 1966 document without having both parties??
You can apply to the Sub-Registrar's office for records of past ownership. They can also give you the originals of any documents you might require.

You can approach the Sub-Registrar's office with proof of ownership and request them to grant you the originals. Failing this, you can file a suit for declaration of title.
