I am engaged to a girl but after engagement I fell in love with someone else and have married her legally. I work for a government organisation. Now I want to ask that I want to break that engagement and I am ready to reimburse all expenses incurred by the other side but I am unsure what kind of legal case they will put up against me and will it effect my job.

A.The only offence you seems to have committed is cheating. The duty casted upon you was to first break the engagement and then proceed with the marriage. But it is now upto the girl in what manner she or her family wants to proceed in this case. I am sure your offer of reimbursement will go a long way in abating the situation but if they or she choose to go ahead and file a criminal case against you then the fate of your job will depend on the outcome of the trial and in case you are convicted. Its as such a non cognizable and bailable offense and therefore prospect of incarceration is bleak which is good for you. #Civil #freeLegalAdviceOnCivil

A.Hi,
She might file a suit against you for cheating but it is advisable to solve the problem by settlement between the families.
It wouldn't affect your job, if you're proved innocent in the suit. Thank You

A.Hi,
As you were just engaged to the other girl, no legal case can be put by her family, but she can file a suit for cheating but you need to present evidences in the court which can prove your innocence. Amicable settlement can be done between the families.
In my knowledge, it wouldn't affect your job.
Thank You
