A.Hi,
The landlord is responsible for the house's whitewashing and long-term repairs therefore they cannot deduct money from a security deposit for such issues. Furthermore, money from the security deposit can only be withheld for damages to the house, not for normal wear and tear.

A.Landlord is and should be responsible for whitewash of the house or flat. Its a wrong trend being setup to deduct tone month deposit in the name of whitewash by the landlords. There has to be end of greed and bad practices. It just shows the mean nature of some of the people howsoever they rise up in whatever way.
Always remember to insert the clause in the rental agreement that long term maintenance like whitewash is landlord's responsibility. (No body does whitewash every 11 months or every year)
